Artist's Description

This image was created on a dark and stormy winters day.

I was not in the happiest of moods and when we reached this part of the bay shore we stumbled upon this scene.

I was struck by the dilapidated structure of the pipeline. And the large chunks of concrete and asphalt that had been dumped there spoke to me of the lost glory of America's industrial heritage.

I felt sad because this is the legacy our forefathers left us and we have let it crumble and through neglect turned one of mankind's greatest achievements - the Hetch Hetchy Pipeline into an aged and leaky wreck surrounded by the shattered remants of a road.
