DW and I were walking in the Coal Creek Open Space Preserve in the Santa Cruz Mountains on the San Francisco peninsula and came across this little waterfall.
At the time we found it it was mid-summer and there was just a little trickle of water coming down the hillside, but I could tell that in a rainstorm the creek would flow and the scene would be delightful.
so, the following winter I waited for a dark and rainy day, packed up my camera and headed out to hike the three miles down the hill to create this image.
Fortunately the rain had stopped by the time I was headed back up the three mile hill.
