Description
I created this image in 2000. I was inspired by Rene Magritte's "Secret Life IV"
It was a time in my life when many changes were occurring, mostly as the result of outside influences. I was hard pressed to maintain my focus and pursue my dreams.
This image took me two months to complete.
I did a lot of soul searching during that time. Before I had finished the image I had come to terms with my station in life and could again move forward because in creating this image I found my center.
I realized that no matter what else may occur I am and always will be an artist. And that if I were not working and living as an artist I would be miserable and live a very short life.
I also realized that my art and the art of others speaks to me in a language that can only be comprehended by experiencing the art itself. A language that can never be spoken, only heard.
I realized I am fortunate because I can comprehend the language of a work of art in my own unique way.
This realization is at the core of how I approach my professional work, and is one reason why I am good at both grasping and communicating the design concepts of my interior designer, and architect clients.
