I create this image one winter day as DW and I were exploring Coyote Creek south of San Jose.
We had left the official trail and were tromping through the woods in a flood plain following the game and fisherman's trails. I looked up and saw this scene and was immediately reminded of a Cathedral.
It's really a very dramatic image when you see it large. The trees reaching up to the sky as though supporting the weight of the heavens, with the clouds painted on the clear blue sky like a mural on a celling.
Dean Birinyi is a residential and commercial interiors and architecture photographer based in San Francisco, CA. I began my career as a photographer in April of 1986. My first job as a photographer was photographing baby portraits in K-Mart Department Stores. I loved the work but not the job. My profession is photographing interiors and architecture is my specialty. However, photography is both my vocation and my avocation. So, I always carry a camera with me because I love creating stunning images of the world around me.
