I created this image while walking through Arastradero Nature Preserve in Palo Alto, CA.

The sky was rapidly darkening as clouds of fog slipped over the crest of the mountains to the west. I spotted this tree off to the left of the trail and as we passed I noticed the clouds had broken in a pattern that was very complimentary to the shape of the tree.

One friend told me it reminded her of a tree that played a large role in her days as child.

My first job as a photographer was photographing baby portraits in K-Mart Department Stores. I loved the work but not the job. My profession is photographing interiors and architecture is my specialty. However, photography is both my vocation and my avocation.
